Vitra Campus

Whenever you are around Basel don't forget to visit the Vitra Campus in Weil am Rhein.
Here some impressions from the new Vitra house (by Herzog& de Meuron) and from the architecture tour : Firehouse by Zaha Hadid (her first building realized, but with no straight walls - everybody got sick in the building :), the Jean Prouvé gasstation, the Frank Gehry Vitra Design Museum & production hall, the Richard Buckminster Fuller Dome,  other production halls by Nicholas Grimshaw and Alvaro Siza. My prefered architect is Tadao Ando and I love the simplicity of his conference building (where you can rent rooms for your private meetings). So enough name dropping, have a look yourself and whenever you are around - go there and buy some souvenirs (even if you might prefer the vintage chairs, you will find something in the Vitra store, and if it is just a good book :).

Art Basel 2010

Here you get some impressions from Art Basel 41. This time my favorite was Shinichi Maruyamas black and white pictures. Have a look and some more ideas. Art Basel is always worth a travel and see you all again in Miami :)

Inspiration Hermès

I just wanted to put some pictures of the opening of the first Hermès mens Store in New York, but than last night Jean-Louis Dumas died and I will just put some more of my favorite pictures of Hermès here and thank the brand for always being the real luxury and for inspiring me since I am a child. RIP Monsieur Dumas and to a great future of all the values of Hermès ... much more to follow ! 

Film "a single man"

I am maybe one of the last to see finally "a single man" but still have to post here the trailer for the visual aspects, all the details, the fashion, the house, yes it is a real inspiration! Also the cast - what a beauty for our eyes (especially Carlos, only a small role but ...) its really worth seeing it ... again ! Thanks Tom.

Store Miami - Shopping alternative ?

The new way to buy a vintage Aston Martin, a new Yacht or just a limited Edition Design TShirt ... have a look on the automatic shopping system at the Mondrian Hotel in Miami. You will find in small boxes the keys to your new house or car as well as some smaller accessories or just a magazine.
I still prefer to touch the products and talk to someone, but you never know.
This is the Inspiration for creating even better stores, products and services, so we will keep the human shopping experience a life !

The international watch and jewelry fair in Basel showed this year again that the luxury market presents its most precious products in an impressive atmosphere. For me less real new innovations, but still impressive big stand installations. Time stays the most precious thing in life - the real luxury ?
